HOW ARE AWARD POINTS EARNED?

Silver and gold awards serve two distinct functions. Silver Libertatems, Audio Archives, and Achievements provide recognition to Chartered Members for participation and financial support. They are earned by either Funding or Service Points. Gold Libertatems are awarded to leaders, organizers, and support personnel in recognition of their services. They are earned entirely by Service Points. Funding and Service Points are awarded as follows.

FUNDING POINTS FOR SILVER AWARDS

FUNDING POINTS: A donation in the amount of the minimum monthly dues earns ten Funding Points. Donations larger than the minimum earn additional Funding Points in the same proportion. In other words, a donation equal to 1 1/2 times the minimum will earn fifteen points; 3 times the minimum will earn 30 points, etc. These points are awarded monthly and are cumulative.

SERVICE POINTS FOR GOLD AWARDS

STAFF VOLUNTEERS. Everyone in Freedom Force is a volunteer. Our primary motivation is to further the mission of liberty. Employees typically work for a lower salary or hourly rate than they could earn elsewhere. Those in leadership positions are compensated entirely through acheivement awards. Leadership, however, is separate from clerical and administrative services that do not generate acheivement awards. Therefore, volunteers who provide these staff services have the option of receiving ten award points for each hour donated. They determine their own hours on the honor system and submit brief summaries showing dates, hours spent, and description of work performed. It may not be important to some staff volunteers to be compensated in this way, and they are not required to submit work summaries. However, credit in the awards program cannot be applied without them. Staff volunteers typically are computer or Internet specialists, directors of Freedom Force projects, and chairmen of satellite organizations, Chapter and regional presidents are not eligible for staff volunteer points. Instead, they receive presidents' points, as explained below.

PRESIDENTS: 10 points are awarded to chapter presidents for each Chartered Member in their chapter; 5 points to regional presidents per regional Chartered Member; 2 points to the International President per international Chartered Member. These points are issued monthly and are cumulative.

ORGANIZERS: Organizers of new chapters receive 500 points. This is a one-time award. 250 points are given at the time of chapter formation, and 250 on the chapter’s first anniversary of successful operation. Successful operation is defined as: (1) Nine or more chapter meetings, (2) Three or more public-information or recruiting presentations, (3) Growth in net chapter membership by 10% or more (minimum growth of one member), and (4) Quarterly or more frequent reports to headquarters providing details of these acheivements. Copies of routine communiques to chapter members that contain this information will suffice.

RECRUITING: Five points are earned for each active Chartered Member recruited. These points are given monthly and are cumulative. In other words, 5 points are earned per recruit per month for as long as the recruits are Chartered Members. That makes this the most powerful component of the awards program.

ACHIEVEMENT. These are one-time awards in recognition of outstanding achievements of significance to the community, the nation, or the world. They are intended primarily for members, but non-members are eligible. The Champion-of-Freedom Award is a sub-category of the Achievement Award. These awards may be in the form of award points, Silver Libertatems, Gold Libertatems, or cash. Their value will depend on the specific acheivement and available funding.
